WHAT IS BUSHCRAFT?
Bushcraft is the usage and practice of skills, acquiring and developing knowledge and understanding of the outdoors in order to survive and thrive in natural environments of all sorts. The term was popularized by Les Hiddins, Mors Kochansky and Ray Mears.
Learning about bushcraft gives you the expertise needed to craft your own tools, shelters, traps and more. Furthermore bushcraft encompasses topics such as firemaking, primitive technology, plant and mushroom identification, foraging, fishing, hunting and cross-country navigation through reading elements of different landscapes as points of orientation.
In other words: Every outdoor enthousiast profits from bushcraft knowledge, no matter if you are a hiker, trekker, climber, canoeist, forager, wildlife photographer or just look for a quick retreat in nature.
